Special Education Teacher in Swedish or Mathematics

At Pauliskolan, we are looking for a special education teacher in Swedish or Mathematics with a strong commitment to creating good conditions for students' learning, health, and development.

Responsibilities

As a special education teacher with us, you will work with students in need of special support, where you assess, plan, and conduct pedagogical work in accordance with applicable governing documents. The main responsibilities are to:

• Map students' and groups' needs, analyze the needs in relation to knowledge requirements, central content, and students' learning
• Plan and conduct teaching
• Follow up on students' learning and evaluate the teaching
• Actively participate in pedagogical research and use and disseminate research findings and methods to strengthen students' learning
• Participate in the cross-administrative network for special pedagogical improvement work
• Work with teaching and didactic development

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Certified teacher with authorization to teach Swedish, and further education to become a special education teacher with a focus on language, writing, and reading development
• or
• Certified teacher with authorization to teach Mathematics, and further education to become a special education teacher with a focus on Mathematics.

In addition, we see that you have:

• Experience working with children and adolescents with disabilities
• Familiarity with external contacts and collaboration with staff, students, guardians, habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, and social services.
• Good digital competence
• Good insight into the school's goals and governing documents
• Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing.

Meritorious:

• Experience in teaching or pedagogical work in upper secondary school
• Experience working with students in introductory programs
• Good experience collaborating with other authorities and participating in various networks.

As a special education teacher, you handle complex pedagogical issues and find solutions that support students' learning and development. You have a deep understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt teaching to individual needs and conditions. Furthermore, you are flexible, see opportunities in changes, and use new information to develop teaching and working methods. Through a relational and inclusive approach, you collaborate closely with students, colleagues, and other professionals to create good learning environments. You value differences and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others.
